Grandpa's Birthday
Last Sunday we celebrated Grandpa's birthday. A joyous day marred by the fact that he did not really understand what was going on. He couldn't even recognise half the people present, although not surprisingly he recognised me... Sigh...
Proverbs 17: 6 Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
Have I really been a crown to my gramps? I'm quite sure I showed plenty of promise when I was young... all squandered away in my arrogant youth. I certainly did not live up to all the expectations piled upon me. Not that its that much of a big deal these days. To be the first graduate, to earn tons of cash, to have a big house and drive a big car... Still... Had I paid more attention I'd have been able to give him a more comfortable life BEFORE he started going senile.
Anyway that's all in the past. As I was saying to Tiwa yesterday, the beauty of our faith is that God is always willing to forgive and accept us so long as we sincerely repent and improve. I'm not Moses' age yet. I've still got plenty of time left for God to use!
Thankfully I haven't reached Psalm 37: 25 "I was young and now I am old." Heh... that'll be kinda late :p
Word of advice for those who can still be called young, 2 Timothy 2: 22 "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." Read on to see what you shouldn't be doing... don't be lazy now!
And finally, some photos :)
