Cloverfield

Just caught the movie earlier after waking up from a 5hr KO session. Don't know why but I've been really really tired recently. Age catching up with me? Hmmm >..<

Anyway, this is a VERY nice movie. Its definitely not your average movie. You could say there isn't a story or a plot. But I think its a very nicely thought out movie that gives you an almost first person view of the "story".

Go watch it! But don't expect a typical ending. There isn't one. This isn't a movie about monsters, how they came or how humans (or rather the Americans) won. This is sorta a documentary of people trying to survive, and of 1 guy coming to terms with his true feelings.

Definitely recommended ^ ^

Sakae Update

Had dinner at Sakae today. First some pics.

My fav Spicy Tuna Gunkan Sushi :)

And Chicken Katsu Don

Firstly, the Sashimi slices are getting THINNER. And there I was complaining when we were in Malacca. Seems that the situation's getting bad here too. And I think they reduced the number of slices too >..<

Recommendation: If you want Sashimi, go to authentic restaurants and pay abit more for alot more satisfaction. Personal favourite right now is in Paragon Basement, near the toilet... forgot name of the place hehe...

Secondly, the rice used seems to be getting BIGGER. Doesn't really taste or look like japanese short grain rice... Hmm...

Recommendation: If there's Yoshinoya nearby, go!

Sadly, Sakae next to Jurong Point is losing standard. Not sure about the other outlets though. Did you expect me to complain about them after seeing the nice pics i took? Hehe... This isn't the first visit that I've noticed the standard dropping, but I had hoped that it wasn't a permanent thing. Sigh.

Rising prices, lower quality + quantity, and yet I'm paying more for SERVICE without gaining any SATISFACTION. Pathetic.

Grandpa's Birthday

Last Sunday we celebrated Grandpa's birthday. A joyous day marred by the fact that he did not really understand what was going on. He couldn't even recognise half the people present, although not surprisingly he recognised me... Sigh...

Proverbs 17: 6 Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Have I really been a crown to my gramps? I'm quite sure I showed plenty of promise when I was young... all squandered away in my arrogant youth. I certainly did not live up to all the expectations piled upon me. Not that its that much of a big deal these days. To be the first graduate, to earn tons of cash, to have a big house and drive a big car... Still... Had I paid more attention I'd have been able to give him a more comfortable life BEFORE he started going senile.

Anyway that's all in the past. As I was saying to Tiwa yesterday, the beauty of our faith is that God is always willing to forgive and accept us so long as we sincerely repent and improve. I'm not Moses' age yet. I've still got plenty of time left for God to use!

Thankfully I haven't reached Psalm 37: 25 "I was young and now I am old." Heh... that'll be kinda late :p

Word of advice for those who can still be called young, 2 Timothy 2: 22 "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." Read on to see what you shouldn't be doing... don't be lazy now!

And finally, some photos :)

Dad the Thinker :)

Grandma, glad to see me as usual...

No. 2 after me, the Lin Chin Hsia of the family :p
