Quote of the moment

"If any of you wants to be my follower, you must first put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross daily, and follow me."

Luke 9:23 (NLT)

Another idea...

Was travelling to work when an idea hit me... Why are we still using handphones with SIM cards?? I mean what do we use the SIM card for? To identify us with the telco network so that we're allowed to hook up, to store that pathetic few contacts...?

I'm thinking... that its about time we moved on to "E-SIM cards". I mean we DO have 3G networks now afterall. How about just picking up a phone, entering your USERID and PASSWORD and walla! Contact list (unlimited capacity) stored on the server... no worries about losing that contact list ever again! Want to try a phone out? Just log on! And of course, to make sure no one "shares" their account, only one connection per account at any one time. Possibly with voice recognition override if your account's being hogged by your sibling...

Why's everyone sticking with SIM cards that take up extra space in the phone, eats power from the phone, is easily scratched if you remove it too often, costs you money to replace if lost... blah blah...

Ok lets see if someone eventually comes up with the idea and makes millions from it ^^ (OR they could just happen to see my blog heh)

*Addon 15mins later...

Oh yes, if the Telcos eventually pick this up, it MIGHT just render WIFI obsolete. I mean whats stopping you from using Laptops or any other gadgets to log on to the 3G network to surf as well? All you need is a 3G pc-card or something... And with that, Creative could gain some much needed ground by coming up with a Muvo-3G that connects to the internet via 3G and plays from your collection back home... Would give Sony's Location TV a run for its money heh...

Verse of the day

Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

***

How true that is! Let His purpose be mine, that i may accomplish what He has set me out for...

Today's QT

Was flipping thru the Bible waiting for some divine inspiration to hit me so that i can start on my very first sermon... Haha... Project of the week. Chanced upon a verse that Pastor Chua had us memorise while in Akha. Decided to read on further...

1 Timothy 4: 12-15

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until i come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift which was given to you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters, give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Perservere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

This verse strikes me deeply... Yes, i should not waste the gift which was bestowed unto me. Yes i need to progress... Especially after backsliding so much for so long... Before i can do great things, i must improve in all the itsy bitsy areas and let everyone see the change in me. And yes... by doing so i can do much good to all around me!

BEST Xmas Ever ^^

Thanks Mel for the new layout haha... i'll prob have to make a few minor adjustments such as auto resizing and stuff so it fits my laptop screen... Mine's WIDESCREEN la... But i like the background pic ^^

Oooh i'm feeling a tad woozy right now... too long neva see my comp screen? Heh... Just came back from East Coast with the youths. Bladed from to both ends of East Coast haha... Got to see the airplanes land near Changi even! And YESH! I can finally go at a respectable speed har har... Kudos :)

Glory to the Almighty God!

Yup! This has definitely been the best Xmas weekend EVER. Its also the 1st Xmas in a long while (ever since i started having girlfriends -.-) that i did not spend it with a single person, but with a whole bunch of peeps ^^.

I say weekend cos the activities started from Friday, with the youth's Xmas Celebration to Sat's CG Xmas Celebration, to Sunday's Xmas Service and King Kong at nite, to today's East Coast outing.

Everyday was pure enjoyment, filled fun and laughter, with God's touch everywhere. I really enjoyed myself slogging through the night on Friday after coming back from watching Narnia, doing up decorations for Sunday's service. First time spending the night at the centre as well. Although its not really legal for us to do that haha...

Its good to be back... Really very good... I think its my resolution to share this with everyone... That its never too late to come home. Not saying its alright to backslide and even leave the Church, but that if in the event that you do, rest assured that God is waiting for you with open arms...

Prodigal Son

It wasn't easy for me to come back for sure. I've drifted really far during my exodus. But i've clawed my way back... With God helping me every inch of the way. But i know, there's still much to be done. I can kinda see the road ahead, and truth be told, i'm pretty excited by the plans that God has for me. An adventure awaits! Hehe... My journey towards a life of service under the one who i love with all my heart and all my soul... my Lord, my God, my Father... I can't wait... I wish it were now, but I know i'm still far from being ready. Even though the dreaded 30 is creeping up on me. Its ok though, Moses spent 40 years preparing... Just hope i won't take as long... >.< <3

You know, i'm really glad to be back in His hands again... No more worries about the future... I know everything's gonna be just great. I've discovered something hidden in my heart recently too... Kinda strange discovery. But i think i'll keep it covered up till God says otherwise. Anyway its not important at this point in time. Gotta focus!

Ahhh... muscles starting to hurt abit... But i'm happy ^^ Feels YOUNGER after this crazy weekend with the youths. I'm still young enough to keep up! Hehehehe... Bleah... :p You know, i had bought this pair of blades for a different reason, but now, i think i'm contented to be able to go blading/cycling with the youths every now and then... Hehe... Oh, i picked up a nice scratch on the elbow today while piggy backing on my blades behind ZongLing's bike. That fatty purposely went faster and i lost control after i let go... >.< Fell a total of 3 times today... But at the end of the day i'm able to keep up with the bikes without looking like i'm about to crash into something any moment haha...

Thank you God, for EVERYTHING ^^

PS. You don't even have to change your font to white! Just justify your entries so it'll look nicer. XD At first I thought I had to change everything to white, and I kinda panicked (You DO have many many entries), but my brilliant mind eventually came up with a solution! (Oh, the brilliance!) And I changed the html. HAHA. I'm such a spaz. XD

PPS. As for the boyfriend thing. PSSH. OVER. Soon. I don't know how long more I can tolerate it. Yes. REMOVE THIS OKAY?!

Bones Creak

Whoa... did anyone miss me? Heh...

Rushed off for the Church Youth Camp just a week after the Akha trip. Got roped in as one of the coordinators... Games primarily. Heh... body's aching all over!!! Gotta blame it on the Hide-And-Seek game... I HAD to jump into that bush and support my weight with just one elbow... And i HAD to be the last few to be found... >.<

Enterprising people are usually interested or gifted in public speaking, selling/purchasing, persuading/advocating, leadership, managing projects to meet goals, promoting/supplying ambition and energy to tasks and people, being decisive, adventuresome: taking financial and interpersonal risks.

Social people are interested or gifted in teaching, demonstrating, training others, listening and facilitating, understanding or counseling others, conversing/informing, being of service: considering the welfare of others, evaluating people's character, being empathetic and tactful and organising social gatherings.

Artistic people are interested or gifted in acting, writing, reporting, techinical writing, verbal/liguistic skills, musical, creative problem solving, sculpting/photography/graphic arts/painting, designing/composing, creative expression through color or design.

Investigative people are interested or gifted in inventing, especially in techinical, scientific or theoretical realms, researching, investigating, conceptualizing, working independently, solving complex problems, computer aptitude, especially software design and development, synthesizing information , organising research so others can understand it, theorizing, finding connections or projecting the future.

And 2 that i don't really think i identify too much with...

Realistic - Mechaincal aptitude, operating heavy equipment, driving, piloting, manual dexterity, building mechanical/structural devices, physical coordination (athlectics etc), organising supplies or equipment, taking risks esp physical, emotional stability, reliability.

Conventional - Organising records, finances, offices, production lines, homes, etc, appraising/evaluating, attending to detail, managing time, setting priorities, calculating and mathematical skills, systematizing and classifying information or things for ease of use, persistence, follow-through and patience, stewardship with conservative handling of data, things and people.

***

Actually i'm kinda caught between Enterprising and Social. In fact i think i have more social gifts than enterprising. Hmmm...

Anyway i think i was caught by the word Leadership. I don't like it, but i willingly take it up when i have to. Isn't it said somewhere that the best leader is a reluctant one? I do not crave for power nor recognition. I just want to get things done in the best possible way with everyone being happy doing it. Now i'm sounding like i WANT to be a leader... Bahh... perhaps deep down i do think that i'm a leader? >.<

Airport Mania

Would you believe that i went down to the airport AGAIN last night? Reached there at around 8pm, left at almost 3am...

Nah... i wasn't trying to sneak off back to Akha. Went down with her ^^ for Sakae Sushi. It was good too. Prob the best outlet on the island.

Its weird how for the past 2 times that we met, i totally can't recall what she looks like. Yet the moment she appears, i know its her. Hmmm...

Thankfully she was more covered up this time round... and so i was able to look at her properly haha... She isn't as pretty as i had imagined/fantasized/dreamed that she was. But she's still pretty laaaaaa... In fact, its a good thing she's not 10/10. Makes her closer to perfection this way. Understand what i'm saying? Heh. Oh and when she laughs, you can see her cute dimples, reminds me of Yang Qian Hua. She really should laugh more... its really nice~

We had wanted to leave when we realised that the only wireless network available in the airport belonged to Starhub and neither of us had an account. But somehow we ended sitting in Macdonalds chatting. I was just sharing with her everything that went through my head then... The Akha trip mostly... And as usual i unconsciously started talking about my faith. Hope she didn't switch off tho... I mean i'm not doing it on purpose to TRY and convert her or anything. I don't really believe in that (convincing someone to convert) anyway. When i was telling her the story of Joseph and King David, i suddenly had this feeling that i was telling it in a way that i would to a kid in Sunday school haha... Hope it was engaging and interesting enough ar...

Someone once told me that i have this knack for relaying things to people in a way that they would understand. I think it only applies to stuff related to God...? Since i have loads of trouble trying to make those dimwits in camp understand what i'm trying to get them to do. My hope is to be able to relay to non-Christians my feelings, my aspirations and my beliefs without saying them in a way that only Christians can understand. Or in a way that would turn-off non-Christians. Better still, in a way that would interest them. Caught her having this dreamy look when i was caught up in one my sharings... Wonder if she was captivated or switched off and falling asleep? Haha...

Anyway i really enjoyed her company. Partly because she is bilingual like myself haha... Its refreshing really. Cos there are some things that are better expressed in Mandarin and then others that require English. And i really like watching her when she laughts...

Ok shall end off here before people start suspecting i'm infatuated again. No i'm not Ok! I'll stick to my rule #1 in choosing a lifelong partner! Bleah~

Akha 2005!

Just bathed after returning from Akha, Thailand ^^

I'm home! Strange though... i didn't really miss home during the entire trip haha... Wasn't even looking forward to having TECHNOLOGY again. I've always liked Thailand and the people there anyway. And now i LOVE the group of people there called the Akhas <3>.<>
